Beamsville Bench
Beamsville Bench is a VQA sub-appellation within Ontario's Niagara Peninsula, situated on the elevated limestone Niagara Escarpment above Lake Ontario. The bench position provides free-draining soils and reliable sun exposure, while lake moderation extends the ripening window. Riesling and Chardonnay are the benchmark whites; Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir succeed in warmer years. Several of Niagara's most acclaimed estate wineries are based here.
