Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley

Southern valley-floor AVA between Napa city and Yountville, established by the TTB in 2004. Cooled by maritime air drawn from San Pablo Bay, it is among the more temperate stretches of Napa Valley, which lengthens the growing season and preserves acidity. That moderate climate gives the district unusual varietal breadth: Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay anchor the plantings, but Merlot and Riesling also have a long history here. The result is a regional signature of brightness and structure built for ageing rather than early opulence.

Structured, bright, versatile — Cab-anchored but distinctly cooler than upper-valley AVAs
