Santa Ynez Valley

Santa Ynez Valley is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located within Santa Barbara County, California. Established in 1983, it is characterized by a diverse range of microclimates and soils, which contribute to the production of a variety of wine styles. The valley is bordered by the Santa Ynez Mountains to the south and the San Rafael Mountains to the north, creating a unique topography that influences viticulture. The region is known for its cool coastal influences, particularly from the Pacific Ocean, which moderate temperatures and allow for a longer growing season.
