Bâtard-Montrachet is an AOC Grand Cru appellation located in the Côte de Beaune region of Burgundy, France. It is for producing high-quality white wines exclusively from the Chardonnay grape. The appellation is situated on the slopes of the Mont Rachet hill, benefiting from a favorable microclimate and limestone-rich soils that contribute to the complexity and richness of the wines. Bâtard-Montrachet is adjacent to other Grand Cru vineyards, including Le Montrachet and Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet, and is characterized by its distinctive terroir that imparts unique qualities to the wines.
