Rheingau

One of Germany's most prestigious wine regions, stretching along the Rhine's north bank between Wiesbaden and Lorch. The river's broad sweep creates a natural sun trap, and the Taunus hills shelter vines from cold north winds. Riesling dominates — over 75% of plantings — producing wines that range from bone-dry to lusciously sweet. As a quality wine designation, Rheingau permits the full Prädikat hierarchy from Kabinett through Trockenbeerenauslese.
