Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane is a DOCG appellation in the Teramo province of Abruzzo, central Italy, elevated to DOCG status in 2010. It is a sub-zone of the broader Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC, restricted to hillside vineyards (colline means hills) in the Teramo hills. The appellation requires a minimum 90% Montepulciano grape and imposes stricter production rules than the parent DOC, including lower yields and mandatory aging. Wines tend to show greater structure, concentration, and aging potential compared to the broader DOC.
