Alta Langa

Alta Langa is a designated Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita (DOCG) located in the Piedmont region of Italy, primarily known for its production of high-quality sparkling wines. The appellation was established in 2010 and is situated in the hilly areas of the Langhe and Monferrato, characterized by a unique combination of clay and limestone soils. The climate is continental, with significant temperature variations between day and night, which contributes to the development of acidity and complexity in the wines. Alta Langa wines are produced using the traditional method (metodo classico), involving secondary fermentation in the bottle.
