Bussia is one of Monforte d'Alba's largest and most important MGAs, a broad southeast-to-southwest facing amphitheatre at 280–400 m that encompasses several famous sub-vineyards including Romirasco, Cicala, and Colonnello. Helvetian Serravallian marl soils — compact, rich in minerals, and well-drained — give the Nebbiolo of Bussia its hallmark power, depth, and longevity: the Monforte signature of concentration over early charm. Poderi Aldo Conterno is the defining estate (Granbussia Riserva is a Barolo icon); Prunotto and Oddero (Vigna Mondoca) add further benchmark single-cru bottlings.
Powerful, deep Barolo; Monforte concentration and longevity
