Cannubi Boschis is an officially codified sub-MGA within the Cannubi hill in the Barolo DOCG, sitting on the northern-facing section above the core Cannubi slope in the commune of Barolo. The 2007 MGA codification distinguished it from the broader Cannubi with its own designated name, reflecting a slightly cooler, more shaded aspect that adds freshness and floral lift to the Nebbiolo. Luciano Sandrone's estate bottling — formerly labelled Cannubi Boschis, since renamed Aleste — made this sub-MGA internationally famous and remains its defining reference.
