Ginestra

Ginestra

Ginestra is a south-southeast facing MGA in Monforte d'Alba at 270–380 m, one of the commune's most expressive terroirs for powerful, aromatic Barolo. Serravallian marl soils with good mineral content produce Nebbiolo of deep colour, persistent tar-and-roses complexity, and the long tannic structure that demands a decade or more of cellaring. Elio Grasso (Casa Maté), Domenico Clerico (Ciabot Mentin), Paolo Scavino, and Giacomo Fenocchio each bottle a distinct facet of Ginestra's concentrated, age-worthy character.

Powerful, tannic Barolo; tar, roses, deep Monforte concentration
