La Serra is a south-facing ridge MGA in La Morra commune at 300–370 m, positioned on the backbone of the hill directly above Brunate. Tortonian soils here are lighter and more well-drained than lower La Morra MGAs, yielding Nebbiolo with pronounced aromatic lift, firm but refined tannin, and good ageing capacity. Roberto Voerzio has bottled La Serra for decades and defines its benchmark; Marcarini is the other historic estate associated with this cru.
