Monprivato

Monprivato

Monprivato is an east-to-southeast facing slope MGA in Castiglione Falletto at 280–310 m, effectively a monopole of Giuseppe Mascarello e Figlio, who has farmed and bottled it for generations. The Helvetian soils — compact Serravallian marl with higher clay content — produce Nebbiolo of considerable structure, dark fruit, iron minerality, and outstanding longevity; these are among the most cellar-worthy Barolos made. Mascarello's Barolo Monprivato and the Riserva Cà d'Morissio (from the oldest vines) set the global reference for this cru.
