Pajana is an officially codified 2007 MGA adjacent to Ginestra in Monforte d'Alba at 280–360 m, sharing the commune's Serravallian marl soils and tendency toward concentrated, structured Barolo. The terroir produces Nebbiolo of dark fruit, earthy depth, and the firm tannic backbone characteristic of the Monforte side of the appellation. Domenico Clerico's Barolo Pajana established the cru's reputation as a serious single-vineyard wine, though the estate is not yet in the evidence-grade producer corpus.
