Sarmassa is a south-facing MGA in the Barolo commune at 260–320 m, known for its full-bodied, perfumed Nebbiolo that balances Barolo-commune elegance with genuine structural depth. The vineyard sits on Tortonian calcareous marl, producing wines with generous aromatics — violet, rose, red cherry — and a firm but polished tannic framework. Roberto Voerzio and Marchesi di Barolo are the two principal producers defining the benchmark for this cru.
