Villero is a south-southwest facing MGA in Castiglione Falletto at 270–320 m, with Helvetian calcareous marl soils that produce some of the commune's most structured Nebbiolo. The wines combine the aromatic finesse associated with Castiglione's central position with the tannic backbone of a Serravallian-influenced subsoil, yielding Barolo that is powerful yet graceful. Giuseppe Mascarello, Brovia, and Vietti (Villero Riserva) are the benchmark producers and between them demonstrate the traditional and modern range of this cru.
Powerful, graceful Barolo; structured with aromatic finesse
