Cigales

Cigales is a Denominación de Origen (DO) located in the Castilla y León region of Spain, primarily known for its production of rosé wines. The appellation is situated to the north of the Duero River and benefits from a continental climate, characterized by hot summers and cold winters. The vineyards are predominantly planted on sandy and clay soils, which contribute to the unique characteristics of the wines produced here. Established as a DO in 1991, Cigales has a historical tradition of winemaking that dates back to the Middle Ages.
