Ribera del Duero is a Denominación de Origen (DO) located in the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain. It is characterized by its high altitude and a continental climate, which contribute to significant temperature variations between day and night. The region is primarily known for its red wines, predominantly made from the Tempranillo grape, which is locally referred to as Tinta del País or Tinta del Duero. The DO was established in 1982 and has gained recognition for its robust and age-worthy wines.
