Toro
Toro is a Denominación de Origen (DO) located in the province of Zamora, within the autonomous community of Castilla y León, Spain. It is characterized by its hot, dry climate and diverse soils, which contribute to the production of robust red wines primarily from the Tinta de Toro grape, a local variant of Tempranillo. The DO was officially established in 1987, although viticulture in the region dates back to Roman times. The wines of Toro are known for their intensity and aging potential, often exhibiting dark fruit flavors and firm tannins.
