Limestone Coast

Limestone Coast is a South Australian GI zone spanning Coonawarra, Padthaway, Wrattonbully, and several other districts atop a calcium-carbonate plateau south-east of Adelaide. Terra rossa over limestone is the defining soil, amplifying Cabernet Sauvignon's regional signature in Coonawarra — often described as Australia's most distinctive red-wine soil. Shiraz and Chardonnay also excel across the zone.
