Chapter 11

Keep track of where your bottles are

Storage is your cellar grouped by where the bottles are kept: a rack, a wine fridge, a friend's cellar.

To add a location, open Storage from the switcher and tap + Add storage below the map. Name the place — for example, Basement rack — choose the profile that best describes its conditions, and tap Done. You can also create one from the storage row while adding a wine, or from a wine's record.

Once you have a storage location of your own, Storage joins the maps you flick through, between Atlas and Time Lens.

Each tile is one location, sized by the bottles in it. Tap a tile to open it: its conditions, the wines inside it, and the moves. You can move some or all of a wine's bottles to another location, or move everything out at once. A location can be removed only when it is empty. Press and hold a tile to learn what its profile means.

The profile — Ideal, Cool and stable, Normal indoor, Warm or variable, Refrigerated, Transit or Unknown — is the one setting that changes how vynr reads a wine's drinking window: the less steady the conditions, the wider the uncertainty, and a bottle keeps the widest it has known. Temperature, humidity and notes are kept as a record only.

A bottle added without a chosen location goes to the location you updated most recently, or to Default rack if you have none of your own. Every move is kept with its date, so your cellar's history includes where each bottle was. Storage is a map only, with no list, and it is part of the free plan.
